Tall, handsome Nigel Barker, currently best known for his role as
judge and photographer on Tyra Banks show, America’s Next Top Model,
came to Chicago to sign his new book, Nigel Barkers’ Beauty Equation,
at Nieman Marcus, September 23, 2010, for the kickoff party of the 5th
Annual Couture and Cocktails event presented by the Women’s  Board of
the Joffrey  Ballet. Surrounded by the glamorous board members and
attendees, Barker was classily gracious and charming to everyone as he
signed his book and was photographed in the beautiful Zodiac Room.
     

Barker planned a career in medicine, studying biology and
physics.  One day his gorgeous mother, a Miss Sri Lanka, entered him
in a modeling contest where he was a finalist, and he then began his
ten year modeling career in Paris, Milan, London and New York. His
love of fashion grew, and he opened a photography studio in New York
where his clients included some of the world’s most recognized names
including Pierre Cardin and Nicole Miller. His photos appear in
several magazines that include GQ, People, Lucky and Interview.
Nigel Barker is married to CoverGirl representative Cristen Barker
since 1999.  They have two children and reside in New York.
